After completing the Common Entry year successfully, students are allocated place on one of the second-year denominated programme. Allocation of second-year programmes adheres to a strict CES Progression Procedure. Students preferences are recorded. Places available on denominated programmes are assigned in strict merit order.

Transfer requests
- All students (including transfer students) must have passed and have no repeat modules to take in the next academic session.
- The final number of places listed for each programme will be confirmed prior to the meeting.
- Students who passed their modules will be reviewed first, based on strict academic merit order.
- Students are reviewed and allocated places based on their 1st preference in strict academic merit order. Only 1st preferences will be considered at the summer board.
- Students who have been allocated their 1st preference will be communicated this outcome.
- All other students will receive an agreed communication confirming that the allocation will be finalised following the resit diet of examinations
Internal transfer requests from CES, AS, AC, BT, GCB, EST, AP, PBM and PHA (& any other relevant programmes) into any of the denominated programmes during the 2nd Semester of each academic year should be considered as part of this protocol and assessed in the same manner.
LIST OF PROGRAMMES
- All students must have passed and have no repeat modules to take in the next academic session. This applies to both deferred and failed students.
- The final number of places listed for each programme confirmed prior to the meeting will be visible on the documentation for the meeting.
- Students will be reviewed based on strict academic merit order.
- Students reviewed and allocated places based on their 1st, 2nd and 3rd preference in sequence.
- Following this meeting, if there are any students who remain unplaced as per the criteria as outlined, then this must be escalated for resolution by the Chair (Associate Dean for T&L) to the Heads of School.
- Registry will be informed of the outcome.
- Students will receive the agreed communication.
