Superintendent's Snapshot - October 2019
Hello DJUSD Community
October 24 was the annual Fall Summit for secondary staff. It was a great afternoon of collaboration and learning at a variety of workshops.
Welcome to the first Snapshot of the 2019-20 school year. Many exciting projects, performances, events and celebrations are already unfolding in our classrooms and across our campuses. In this October Snapshot you will see some of the highlights I have witnessed from the last month and what news is yet to come!

Bond Program
In November 2018, Davis voters passed Measure M, a $150 million school facilities bond measure to upgrade schools for safety and 21st century learning. Together, Measure M funds along with additional facility dollars constitute the current DJUSD Bond Program that amounts to approximately $226 million. In February 2019, DJUSD saw the first successful bond sale that enabled our school District to begin work with the first $50 million of our Bond Program, referred to as “Group 1 Projects,” to address safety projects, elementary
multi-purpose rooms and more.
As we progress, you will find a detailed overview of every project in the new Bond Program website. All of these projects are informed by the Facility Master Plan, a high-level guideline for all district facilities for decades to come. Our Bond Program website is a comprehensive look into the bond progress, milestones and project FAQs.
