Art Club
Art club participates in special projects and field trips, such as the annual trip to Chicago. Members use their individual creativity to make different art pieces. This club is open to all students interested in art.
Ambassador Club
The City High Ambassador Club is a highly exclusive club for Juniors and Seniors only. Members connect the school to the community by participating in activities such as planning events, alumni tours, and passing out programs.
Architecture Club
Architecture club is available to all students interested in construction, engineering, and architecture. The group works on a variety of projects around City High.
Best Buddies
Best Buddies is a club dedicated to improving the lives of students with intellectual disabilities. Peer buddies are paired with a student with intellectual disabilities to create a relationship. Pairs communicate weekly and do activities together twice a month.
Business Professionals of America
The Business Professionals of America club is available to all students interested in going into a business profession. The club visits different local shops to speak with managers or owners.
Chess Club
This club is open to anyone who is interested in playing chess, or learning to play chess. Students meet on Wednesdays after school to play chess and have fun. There is also a yearly City High chess competition. Next year, the club is hoping to go to more tournaments.
City High Review
Students in this club collect, edit, and publish student writing and art in the online magazine and print editions. This club is open to all students.
Combined Efforts Drama
Combined Efforts Drama puts on productions that involve students with disabilities. To participate in performances and look for upcoming productions, visit www.combinedefforts.org.
Debate Club
Debate Club is open to any student interested in argumentation and researching social questions. Students develop cases and go to competitions.
Forensic/Speech
The speech club is available to students interested in speaker. This club includes individual and large group speaking. Each year, the speech club hosts a show for City High.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a student led organization. The purpose of this group is for students to prioritize their values. The group emphasizes the importance of building a relationships with Christ and following his teachings.

First Robotics Club
The group is available to all students interested in STEM. The group provides opportunities for students to build robots and use advanced technology. Math and science skills are used to create robots and problem solve.

GLOW
Glow is available to all students wanting to create a safe school environment for the LGBTQ community. Members of this group strive to educate City High about LGBT issues and to spread positive messages.

G! World
G! World is available to all minority female students at City High. The group focuses on empowering, mentoring, and supporting young minority women in our community. G! World is a safe space for students to express themselves and share their dreams.

Homework Club
The homework club is available to all students looking for academic help. The group allows for students to receive help for homework assignments, papers, and projects.

Interact Club
Interact club is open to students interested in doing community service. The club researches local organizations looking for volunteers. The hours recorded of service for interact contribute to total silver cord hours.

Math Club
Math club is open to students interested in math. The group prepares for contests and participates in competitions across Iowa. Students involved can potentially earn math scholarships.

Mock Trial
Mock Trial is available to all City High students. This group learns the rules of court and holds fake courtroom cases. Students pretend to be a member of the jury, a witness, the accused, or a lawyer. The group travels to go to regional and sometimes state mock trial competitions.

Model United Nations
This club is available to all City High students. This group learns about the United Nations and discusses world events. Members attend a spring conference with other school districts to discuss modern issues.

Political Awareness Club
The political awareness club is open to students interested in politics. Members discuss and research modern political and economic subjects.

Psychology Club
Psychology club is open to students interested in learning. This club gives students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of psychology.

Speaker Club
Speaker club is available to all students interested in organizing City High events. Members search for interesting speakers available to present to students. The speaker club has brought entrepreneurs, athletes, and academics.

Spirit Club
The members of City High spirit club help spread school pride. They help plan assemblies, decorate the school, make cheers for student sections, and attend City High events.

Student Senate
Student senate is available to all students interested in bettering City High. Members plan and organize school events, including prom, charity events, and homecoming. This group works with the class presidents and staff sponsors to create a positive school environment.

Thespian Club/ Paints and Patches
While paints and patches is available for everyone, the thespian club is exclusive to students highly invested in drama. Members of both clubs rehearse for plays, musicals, and performances. Paints and Patches is the prerequisite for thespian club.
