On today’s Ultimate Cajun Adventure, we’ll explore the charm and enchantment of southern Louisiana. From air boating through the beautiful wilderness of the bayou to sampling local cuisine, the unique and storied Louisiana Acadiana region has never been more up close and personal. First on our exhilarating ride through the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp, feel the air on your face as our expert Cajun captain leads us through the backwaters of the bayou and mossy cypress tree forests. See alligators and other wildlife in their natural habitat as the boat traverses deep into the swamp. All this excitement will surely work up an appetite, so next we will enjoy a family style lunch at Pont Breaux’s Cajun Restaurant. And to complete this Cajun experience, we will stop at the Acadian Cultural Center in Lafayette, LA to uncover the history of Cajun culture.

The tour begins with a brief driving tour in Memphis.
Guided by local rock n’ roll personality, Memphis Jones.
This tour is a day full of authentic Cajun Experiences.
Cajun culture is one of the most enduring traditions of the American South.
It is a unique blend of French, Spanish, African-American, and Native American cultures.
Our stops for the day include the Acadian Cultural Center, Pont Breaux’s Cajun Restaurant, and the Atchafalaya Basin.
The Acadian Cultural Center is in Lafayette- heart of Cajun Country and Acadiana.
The Museum tells stories of the origins, migration, settlement, and contemporary culture of the Acadians (Cajuns).
Acadians are French colonists from eastern Canada who immigrated to Louisiana after the Seven Years War.
It’s an extensive museum featuring the history and culture of the Acadian region.
Guests will enjoy a self-guided tour of multiple exhibits that explore the historic Cajun traditions and lifestyle.
At Pont Breaux we will enjoy an authentic Cajun meal and dancing.
The meal includes: gumbo, chicken, fried catfish, grilled shrimp, potatoes, greenbeans, fried okra and bread pudding.
At the Atchafalaya basin, we will board airboats for a tour through the swamp.
Our Cajun captain will stop along the ride to share the history of the area.
Using French Creole, our captain may even speak to alligators!
The boats are very loud, headphones are available for all guests to use during the boat ride
