Office of Quality Review/Disability Quality Branch: The DQB branch conducts reviews on the medical portion of disability claims completed by the State Agency, Disability Determination Services and by field offices. All DQB reviews are conducted on live cases; in other words, these are cases where a medical decision has not been finalized and payments have not yet been issued. Therefore, it is important that we make every effort to move these cases as quickly as possible through our review process while still ensuring the accuracy of the decision.

EDCS is a web-based application that is used by the Field Office (FO) to record disability information for a claim. The information collected in EDCS mirrors the information collected on the paper disability reports (e.g., SSA – 3368) and Internet Disability Reports (IDRs). Employees in other components (i.e. Disability Determination Services (DDS), Office of Quality Performance (OQP), Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR), and Processing Centers (PC) use eView to view the information entered into EDCS by the FO.
