Meeting the Mentor/Supernatural Aid
The hero receives help from an older, wiser person or creature. Sometimes it's training. Sometimes it's an item/gift to use on the quest.
Every hero needs a helper. Most heroes would fail without their helpers. Sometimes the helper joins the hero at the beginning. Sometimes they meet along the way.
The Road of Trials

The hero must face whatever holds the ultimate power in his life. Sometimes it's really his/her father. Sometimes it's a god. Sometimes it's someone or something with incredible power.
Master of Two Worlds/Restoring the World
The hero may return with an item or power that will help them save the world. Other times, the hero has proved himself worthy of a new status or title (king, queen, god, etc.).

The sidekick. The hero needs this person in order to succeed.
The older and wiser character who gives the hero the training or item he or she needs to succeed. Could be a person or supernatural being.
