At present, identification of a person’s personal details and medical history during an emergency situation where the person is unconscious,is unattainable. In case of unconscious subjects data has to be obtained from relatives or attenders which may not be reliable and very time consuming. Past history is very vital for a medical personnel to proceed with the right treatment along with their past history about the medical procedures that they have gone through. Our project mainly focuses on maintaining a person’s personal and medical records digitally with security as an application where the person’s details can be accessed easily by the doctors and hospitals during emergency situations. The personal details include name, gender, date of birth and current medical conditions like blood pressure , blood sugar levels and records about allergies as well as other medical records too.
Fingerprint Matching Algorithm
A fingerprint identification algorithm which uses key points or minutia points for matching exact features of two images.
Intensive research on fingerprint recognition has shown that fingerprints are not distinguished by their ridges and furrows, but by features called Minutia, which are some abnormal points on the ridges. eg: Ridge ending, Ridge Bifurcation.
Ridge Thinning: an iterative parallel thinning algorithm which eliminates redundant pixels of edges till the ridges are just one pixel wide.
Minutia Marking: The minutia identified are marked and numbered as 0s and 1s.
We assume the two fingerprints are similar based on the number of minutia matched.
MATCH SCORE = NUM(matched_minutiae/max(number of minutiae)
ASYMMETRIC ENCRYPTION AND DECRYPTION
DATA SECURITY ALGORITHM
A modern branch of cryptography and also known as public-key cryptography in which the algorithms employ a pair of keys (a public key and a private key) and use a different component of the pair for different steps of the algorithm.
Private key: The secret component of a pair of cryptographic keys used for asymmetric cryptography. In a public key cryptosystem that key of a user's key pair which is known only by that user.
Public key: A public key which encrypts a message. The publicly-discloseable component of a pair of cryptographic keys used for asymmetric cryptography. In a public key cryptosystem, that key of a user's key pair which is publicly known.
* Easy access to patients's medical data
* Doctors can know patients allergies and past history
* Data is highly secured
* In the field of medical care
* Can be deployed as a global application
* Can be used for efficient medical care in villages and in cities.
