The Cambodian Genocide
April 17th 1975
This is the day where the Khmer Rouge over power the city of Phnem Penh.
The first Four Year Plan is written. Cambodians were no longer allowed to own private possesions.
Thousands of people were sent to fight troops from Viatnam, and a lot of them were killed.
Troops from Viatnam and United Front for the NAtional Salvation of Kampuchea wrangled their way into the country.
January 7th 1979
Phnom Penh is captured by the Viatnamese, and the Khamer Rouge manage to escape and reestablish in Thailand,
Much later, in 1990, the Viatnamese troops finally left Cambodia. In 1998, Pol Pot died, and in 1999 the Khamer Rouge completely collapsed.
