Mexican trip project
1. Catedral Metropolitana: Its a cathedral that id dedicated tot he virgin mary, construction started in 1573 but was not finished till 1813.
2. Teotihuacan Pyramid: Construction began around 1400 years ago. It is predicted that it had a population of more than 100,000. The nam teotihuacan in aztec means "were the gods were created¨
3. Templo Mayor: It was a aztec temple dedicted to the worship of Huitzilopochtli (war god) and to Tlaloc (rain god) was the tallest building of its time.
I took a tripe to the stunning Sacred Cenote, the location appealed to me do to its historical back ground. The mayans believed that there rain god, Chac, lived at the bottom. They would make offerings to him and ask for bountiful harvests and for rain.
Along with making offerings such as gold they also sacrificed women and children in his name.
It was against the law for anyone to use this cenote for anything other than to worship they would use other cenotes threw out the city for there needs.
This trip showed me how important religion is in hispanic cultures.
