This presentation is a small insight on what is HTML and the basic information about the "Tags" on HTML coding.
So what is HTML?
HTML is short for Hypertext Markup Language
HTML is a coding languages conceived to permit site creation.
These sites would then be able to be seen by any other person associated with the Internet. It is generally simple to learn, with the nuts and bolts being open to a great many people in a single sitting; and very intense in what it enables you to make.
Html is made up of tags, now a tag is how html defines different areas and sections of the document and it is how the web browser would read and interpret the code essentially.
The first tag you need in html is basically the tag <html>, most tags in html need opening and closing. Use these symbols <> to open a tag and </> to close it.
Here are some of the Basic HTML tags
<html> Simply the starting point in every html document
<title> Defines a title for the document
<body> Defines the document's body
<h1> to <h6> Defines HTML headings
<p> Defines a paragraph
HTML has some handy heading tags. We've go <h1></h1> which would create the biggest heading and in terms of style simply increases the font size and makes it bold. this initially means the ones that follow <h2>, <h3>, <h4>, <h5>, <h6> would the decrease to the smallest. (as shown in the image on your left)
The body section, now we are going to add content to the page
Simply this is hw your heading would look like
The <p> tag the allows you to add a paragraph in your web page, ensure that you open and close the tag in order for your paragraph to appear.
Now we add a paragraph
The <p> tag
And this is what the paragraph would look like in the actual web page
So we are going to add the title tag, this is the text displayed in the web browser’s title bar.
This is what the webpage would look like. Notice that the page is blank because we have not added content yet but we only have the title of the page
Within the html tags we have two sections mainly the Head and the Body section This is simply the basic structure of an html file.
This is the head section, this is where the information about the page would go
This is the body section, this is where the actual content which is displayed to the user go.
Here are some of the cool websites which i have used you can visit to learn more about HTML, and some videos to watch and get a better insight.
Noow that you've got a bit of an idea on what HTML is, its time to explore
Some of the tools you use
Make sure that you save your files on an html extension and ensure that you select "all files when saving"
