Mesh Count Selection
Equal Tension
Tension needs to be equal in the warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) to achieve unified mesh openings.
Tension Meter
Check each direction of the mesh weave with a tension meter. Keep above 20 Newtons for best results.
Let It Sit
Retensioning roller frames be sure to let the screen sit for a bit and recheck the tension. Add more if needed.
Think about the art you are printing - what is best for the image and opacity?
Here are four tips for your t-shirt print shop to remember as to why the craftsmanship of your screens are crucial to your shop's quality control and printing image success.
25-40
110-125
155-175
200-305
Mesh Diameter
"S" Thread Mesh has a higher percentage open area because the threads are thinner, which means more ink can travel through the mesh and onto the shirt. This gives better coverage and more opacity.
Quality Frames
Free of tape and debris
Clean frame to remove all ink, gunk and residue. Keep it pristine.
Static aluminum frames have to be remeshed when the tension gets too low to use.
Retensionable frames can be reworked and retensioned as you use them.
Weft
Warp
Print with matched tensioned frames for better results and registration.
