Over time, dialysis can help you feel better and more energized
How does dialysis feel?
The dialysis clinic is filled with sounds. The beeps you hear do not mean something bad is happening. They are mostly there to remind your care team to do certain things.
You will be sitting in a room next to many other people on dialysis. Feel free to strike up conversation!
What is it like in a dialysis clinic?
Your first day of dialysis
Wear warm clothes (layers) and bring a blanket
Wear loose clothing that can be rolled/unbuttoned to show your access
Use the bathroom before starting treatment
Ask about the clinic's food and drink policy
Bring a fully charged laptop, tablet, books, or magazines to stay entertained
Bring earphones to listen to music or the TV
Invite a friend or family member to join you
Bring all medication, vitamin, and supplement bottles
