He brought me through the hallway when I woke up. I pretended I was asleep still though. Dad brought me into the concrete garage, and placed me carefully in the car. I then pretended to wake up. My eyes flickered open like a light switch. I squinted, because it was bright. I then yawned a loud yawn.
Then I feel someone poking me, and hear someone calling my name. I looked up it was Jacob.
“What?” I yawned.
“Do you want to go into the gas station with us?” Jacob asked.
“Sure.” I reply.
We went inside, and we got some candy and gum. I smelled something yummy and I turned my head to see what it was. It was a HERSHEY'S Bar my favorite kind of chocolate. I picked up the smooth bar of delicious chocolate. I walked up to the counter and plopped down the chocolaty bar. It crinkled as it hit the counter.
“Oh, sure.” Jacob replies.
I turn on the computer, and push in the DVD. The movie starts. We watch it for and hour and a half. Then the movie ends. We put in another movie and halfway through the computer dies.
“What?” Mom asks.
“ How much longer?” I ask. “Plus the computer died.” I added.
“We have about a half hour left.” She stated.
“Okay.” I reply.
“To chew on so your ears don’t pop.” Mom answered.
I nod and start chewing again. Then I look out the window, and it was a gorgeous view. The mountains with snow on them passing. I rolled down my window. As soon as I did I rolled it back up, it was kind like the highway. Then I see little kids skiing. It felt like my stomach was eating itself plus I started to get really warm. That either means that I’m either hungry or nervous. In this case I was nervous. I saw kids that were either 3 and 4 years old. speaking of age I was 8 years old.
I looked at mom and dad who were looking out the window like hawks. I was starting to wonder what there were looking for.
“What are you looking for?” I finally ask.
“We are looking for Sitzmark the ski store so we can get some skis.” Mom stated. “Do you want to help look?” Mom asked.
“Sure,” I replied.
“Is that it?” Jacob asked.
“Yep.” Dad replied.
Then we went go to our hotel/house, we went to sleep, and the next day we wake up early and eat breakfast.
We get to the slopes. We got the bunny slope and the first time I went down backwards. I was content that I needed dad’s poles that were taller then I was. I went down it a couple of times then I was getting the hang of it. Dad and I went onto a harder one when mom and Jacob stayed at the bunny slope.
Dad and I get on the ski lift. Then we got off I was at the top of the harder green. I was sweating even though it was freezing. I took a deep breath.
“Is everything alright?” Dad asked
“Yeah.” I say.
Then, I start gliding in the snow. The snow flew up after me, a smile sneaked onto my face as the brisk air rushed past me. Then I made a decision, to close my eyes. It was fun until I opened them and was heading straight for a tree. I tried to swerve around it, but then I fell.
“Are you okay?” Dad asked.
I looked at myself to make sure, then I make a decision.
“Yeah.” I say stubbornly.
I get up and start skiing toward the ski lift again. I felt like I had accomplished something, and that something was big. I got on the ski lift and started snacking on the snacks that I stuck into my coat pocket this morning. I was shoving them in my mouth like tic tacs.
“Can we have lunch?” I asked.
“Yes we can.” Dad replied.
Dad got on the phone. He started talking to mom. I was not focused on dad I was focused on when to get off. I got off of the ski lift.
We skied all the way down to the lodge. We met mom and Jacob there. I could smell all of the food, it was so good I could taste it. I ordered pizza and hot cocoa, by hot I mean HOT. We finished lunch.
Dad and I went on the slope we went on before one more time. Then we went to to our hotel/house. I ate dinner and worked on my Rainbow Butterfly story, and went to bed on the top bunk. While I dreamed and thought of skiing tomorrow.
