Fixing e-File Rejections
Review the customer's account in the e-file engine (EFE). Confirm the filing rejection within the Submission Status section.
Within the Filer Info section, verify (primary or secondary taxpayer only):
- First and last name
- Last four digits of Social Security number (SSN)
- Date of birth (DOB)
- Zip code
Explain Error Code
Locate the error code in the Errors section and read the Intuit Problem Message to the customer.
Fix Return Rejection
Ask the customer to click Fix my return, click Fix it now, then follow any guidance provided by the software.
If additional assistance is required, direct the customer to https://ttlc.intuit.com/ and instruct them to type the error code into the Get Answers search field.
Replicate the search locally and guide the customer to the applicable article. The customer should complete any resolution steps provided.
