The Bull Terriers was produced in the early 1800s by crossing the English White-Terrier and the Bulldog, hence the name. It originated in Europe, but more specifically in England/United Kingdom.
Purpose Of Breed
The main purpose for the Bull Terrier was to fight. In Great Britain the best fighting dogs were mainly Bulldogs. But many people wanted the ability of great smell from the English White-Terrier. Therefore, after breeding them the result would be a Bull Terrier.

Over time the main changes that happened to the Bull Terrier was its facial and body features. In the present the Bull Terrier has a more a narrow rounded egg-shaped head. But around in the 1800s the dog's snout structure was more straight. The dog's body over time as well has become, more muscular and buff, and its ear's has manged to perk up.
