First of all I would not be able to present my products and my progress if I did not use blogger. It has been the source which allowed me show websites and sources from where I gained my knowledge, also allowed me to present my ideas as well as my final products. Being experienced with blogger from AS I was able to design my blogger the way I wanted it - being a fan of horror I wanted this theme within the blog therefore my background image is of a scratched wall with blood stains, this feature is present throughout the rest of my trailer. In addition I also made the titles and headlines be red which evidently shouts horror
. iMovie has played a huge role towards my construction, planning and evaluation stages. iMovie allowed me to present the footages gathered from different days, it also allowed me to put together all of the sounds which I have found from my previous stage of researching - by doing so it would mean I had all of my sounds in one place when editing the trailer. I was also able to show the face makeup preparation as well as the arm preparation - having done this would mean that I had something to look back at when doing my actress’ makeup. One of the most important reason to why iMovie was very significant is because I used it to edit my trailer, being very familiar with the software I was able to do many things, from trimming the shots and placing them in the correct order, to changing the amount of light a shot has or the speed of shots. iMovie also allowed me to put together the auditions which I have held for my trailer which allowed me to have something to look back at and decide on the actors I wanted to include. iMovie also allowed me to collect feedback from my audience - having it as a video allowed me to see and remember the different things that were said. Feedback collected and edited on iMovie was regarding the Poster and Magazine but also reactions to my trailer. Having collected the reactions from the trailer in a video would mean that I was exposed to their facial expressions.
Youtube also played a huge role towards my construction, research, planning and evaluation stages. Youtube allowed me to post and share my own videos created on iMovie, It also allowed me to research in to other trailers such as Sinister and Insidious, by having access to youtube allowed me to acknowledge the codes and conventions of horror trailers. Youtube also allowed me to research into directors, and what inspired them to create films, this was also very crucial as it helped me form an idea of what I wanted my horror trailer to be about. Youtube has also been a source which has allowed me to learn how to use certain softwares for instance ‘after effects’ when creating my ident.
Google has been one of the biggest sources which allowed me to gather most of my information. In order to understand the History of horror and other theories I used google to get the information. When having to show my props I used google images so it can be easier to acknowledge the various different items which I will be needing. Also when having to analyse previous magazines and posters I used google images to get examples, looking at other magazines which already exist has been extremely helpful towards the creation of my own magazine and poster.
