Jesus in the desert
After being baptized by John the Baptist, Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights in the Judaean Desert. During this time, Satan appeared to Jesus and tried to tempt him. Jesus having refused each temptation, Satan then departed and Jesus returned to Galilee to begin his ministry.
Satan tried to make Jesus use his powers to help himself. First he told Jesus to make the stones to become bread, but Jesus knew it was a trap.
Next the devil took him to the holy city and made him stand on the highest point of the temple and convinces him to throw himself down, Jesus didn't do it and knew Satan was trying to test Jesus' faith in God.
Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their wealth and makes Jesus to bow down to him, but Jesus' faith in God was too strong for him to be tempted. God was pleased to see how strong Jesus was. The devil left him alone, and angels came to wait on him.
