The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. It`s job is to maintain international peace and security, making friendly relationships among other nations, better living common standards and human rights, etc. The United Nations also helps victims of natural and manmade disasters.
The UN flag has a white emblem which is the world in it with a blue background.
The Emblem and the Flag of the United nations are used for peacekeeping missions as a protective signs during armed conflicts.
The UN headquarters are located in New York City in the US and it was built in 1949.
There are 193 countries in the United Nations including the US, Korea and more. All of them are members of the United Nations.

The current UN Secretary General is Ban Ki-Moon, he is from South Korea. There are 5 main department in the UN which are the Department of the General Assembly (GA), Department of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Department of Development,Department of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, and Department of Peace and Security. Some the most common topics are about human rights, technology, laws, security, peace, etc.

Some of the UN achievements are: Saving 90 million children, Saving Pyramids, Food Aid, Peacekeeping, War Crimes Prosecution, Aid to refugees, etc. The UN is trying and doing their best to create and do peace with other countries in order to achieve harmony, end war, help other people, etc.
The Model United Nations is a model that is considered an extracurricular activity in which students imitate the United Nations and its committees. By doing MUN, students acquire experiences and skills for their future jobs, improving their research, public speaking, writing, teamwork, leadership skills, diplomacy, negotiations, etc.
