WE PROVIDE FREIGHT TRUCKING SERVICES BETWEEN US & MEXICO
Studies commissioned by FAO estimated annual global food loss and waste by quantity at roughly 40-50 percent of root crops, fruits, and vegetables. Food loss and waste (FLW) is an increasingly important issue in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, where close to 170 million tonnes of food produced for human consumption are lost and wasted—across the food supply chain. Food waste in landfills is a significant source of methane gas—a greenhouse gas (GHG) 25 times stronger than carbon dioxide. FLW also has environmental and socio-economic impacts, including the inefficient use of natural resources, economic loss, biodiversity loss, and public health issues.
Losses in the distribution of proper transport and handling of food are critical throughout the supply chain, particularly with perishable goods that require cold conditions. Inconsistent refrigeration occurs when trucks malfunction or are involved in accidents. Other handling problems occur when produce is kept at improper temperatures, such as when it sits too long on loading docks. If these perishables do make it to a store, they have a shorter shelf life by the time they get there.
One industry consultant estimates that up to one in seven truckloads of perishables delivered to Supermarkets is thrown away.
The destructive properties of ethylene gas wreak havoc each year on the food industry. Uncontrolled levels of ethylene gas will jeopardize your profitability along with your Brand but also risk your food safety best practices and initiatives. Items that generate ethylene (apples, pears, peaches, melons)
Ethylene Gas Causes: accelerated ripening, discoloration, russet spotting, yellowing, wilting & decay, bitterness, sprouting and rind breakdown.
Some fruits, such as bananas and apples, produce very high levels of ethylene which leads to the acceleration of ripening and spoilage within the container.
Concentrations as low as 0.1 ppm can affect the ripening process and ethylene gas levels as low as 1 ppm can destroy an entire shipment in a single day.
The current ethylene control technology is based on the use of adsorptive materials that are one time- use, relatively bulky and heavy, and pose a considerable environmental and cost burden as the spent permanganate-based materials are considered hazardous waste.
MOVAZA CORPORATION is a company focused on the primary sector. We developed a logistics solution that enhances and facilitates product handling, transportation, and Commerce of agro products
CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT CONTAINER EXTEND THE LIFE OF PERISHABLE PRODUCTS
Our food safety air sanitation solution was developed from NASA technology and offers airborne cross-contamination protection for your products:
Controlling ethylene gas provides the following benefits:
Slows Premature Ripening
"Mixed" Product Compatibility
Shelf Life Extension
Maintain Product Quality
WHAT WE DO
We analyze together with the customer, the routes and number of shipments per year in order to adapt and schedule a fleet in according to their needs. Fleet will have the integrated technology that preserves perishable products:
Technology in transportation that kills airborne mold, fungi, & bacteria removes ethylene gas of perishables. No ozone (O3) is used
Sensors to monitor levels of ethylene, oxygen, relative humidity, temperature, and gases.
Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) and ultraviolet light to destroy harmful airborne microbes. The device is not a filter. Bacteria & fungi contamination is not always visible, but still capable of inflicting irreversible damage to food safety programs
Kill up to 95% of airborne mold and fungi; Kill up to 100% of airborne bacteria; Remove up to 99% of ethylene gas; Reduce cold storage odors
FDA Class Medical Device; Operates 24/7 to dilute CFU load
