Haymarket state ‘we help businesses meet their objectives through owned, earned, native and paid content across all media channels - digital, social, live or even print!’ this implies that they market across a range of multi-media platforms which would prove very useful in increasing my audience reach.
The company’s in-house team also manage over 120 award-winning events per year, both in the UK and internationally. They work with clients to produce these events on their behalf, and I think this would be very useful when it comes to launch parties and feature events which would vastly improve Smash’s reputation both in the industry and within the consumer, to increase quality and appeal of the product.
I also intend to have a subscription service available in my magazine as I have quite a niche target audience, and having subscribers will ensure a regular core readership, as well as benefitting the audience with heavily discounted prices and the reassurance that they will not miss an issue. As well as postal subscriptions I would like to have the option for readers to subscribe digitally, with their issue delivered to an electronic device every release instead of to their door. I feel Haymarket will be able to meet these expectations as they have a very versatile team who can work on behalf of my ideas.
Additionally, I intend to expand my audience reach by creating a website and app, where the ezine copy of Smash would be made available – Haymarket would most certainly be able to do this.
Finally, social media is a vital part of marketing with today’s generation of youth – according to Ofcom, a UK media industry watchdog, three-quarters of 16-24 year olds use social networking sites: Almost half of UK adults (47%) claim to access social networking sites, with take-up highest among those aged 16-24 (75%). Haymarket clearly pride themselves on their multi-plaform work, and will be able to provide the best reach on publishing the technological side to Smash.
