23 Generations of the Airway
1-16 are Conducting
17-23 are Transitional/Respiratory
Tracheal to Terminal Bronchioles= ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium + goblet cells from the main bronchi downward.
No hyaline cartilage in the bronchioles - they have more smooth muscle
Mucous membrane also undergoes a transition from the above to simple cuboidal epithelium (from respiratory bronchioles down) to simple squamous epithelium.
RMB = 2cm long and more straight LMB = 5cm long
Right Bronchial Artery is from the 3rd Intercostal Artery
Left Bronchial Ateries = 2 = from arch of the Aorta
Bronchial Vein communicates with Pulmonary Vein
Left = Accessory Hemiazygous Vein
Right = Azygous Vein

Bifurcation at carina = T4
