Intercultural Conflict Resolution Within The Workplace
What is intercultural conflict?
conflict between persons of different cultures over incompatible values, norms, face orientation, goals, scarce resources, process, and/or outcomes in a communication situation
Recognize the culture
Cultures differ in terms of values, therefore they also differ in terms of how to solve an issue
Apply single/double loop Model
This model asks "what is the conflict really aobut?"
Educate on Intercultural Communication Fexibility
Inform employees that due to the different backgrounds of ethnicity, we all need to be more open minded when dealing with eachother
Find the common ground
remind employees the reason why they're at work to begin with.
Form of resolution may differ depending on the type of work environment
results may differ depending on strategy that is used for the current workplace.
