You will need resealable bags to put your supplies in, for each segment.

You will need to label each bag with the segment and service name in English.

Size: Gallon size works best

You will need a clear plastic container to put all of your supplies in.

MUST HAVE CLEAR PLASTIC CONTAINER

Size: 16” x 16” x 16”        or        24” x16” x 13 7/8”

with a 1-12 ounce bottle of Hand Sanitizer placed on the lid of the container.

HAIR SERVICE BASIC SET UP

You have 15 minutes to prepare your workstation and set up the basic supplies used throughout your exam. During this time, you will also drape your mannequin and set up your implements for the layered haircut.

A Paper Towel for wiping down station.

Layered Haircut

SEGMENT I

Razor with guard

Examine the scalp for any concerns. Perform a layered haircut using both scissors and razor. You must remove at least one inch of hair from the entire head. The mannequin will be left wet, as a blow dry or style is not included in this section. Complete this segment in 30 minutes.

SEGMENT II

Permanent Wave

Re-drape your mannequin for a chemical service. Examine the scalp for any concerns. Perform a permanent wave on the center back section of your mannequin. You must wrap the entire section and prepare the mannequin for mock product. Step back and wait for instructions. Complete this segment in 20 minutes.

SEGMENT III

Color Retouch

Re-drape your mannequin for a new, chemical service. Examine the scalp for any concerns. Prepare the skin and perform a color retouch using mock product in one quadrant of your mannequin. Assume there is 1 inch of regrowth. Complete this segment in 10 minutes.

SEGMENT IV

Virgin Relaxer

Re-drape your mannequin for a new, chemical service. Examine the scalp for any concerns. Prepare the skin and perform a virgin relaxer using mock product in one quadrant of your mannequin. Complete this segment in 10 minutes.

Applicator Sticks

Perform a skin analysis. Demonstrate an eyebrow wax using simulated soft wax on one eyebrow of the mannequin. On the other brow, demonstrate an eyebrow wax using simulated hard wax.  Complete this segment in 10 minutes.
