Instructional Technology Creation Process
In the ideal situation, you will be approached by an Instructional Designer with a request for the creation of a learning object. This is the time to discuss the desired functionality, delivery, and due date for the object. Once the object has been agreed upon, be sure to have a task in Wrike created in the Instructional Technology task section.
Next, decide which tools or software would be best to create the requested object. As an Instructional Technologist, you are seen as a subject matter expert in your field. Use your best judgement, and confer with the other Instructional Technologists, when choosing tools you'll use to ensure all aspects of requested functionality can be delivered by the due date. For larger objects, or objects that have many parts, provide proofs along the way.
Once the object has been created and is functioning properly, be sure to let the designer who requested the object know. At this time, assign the Wrike task for the object to the designer and update the status. Once the designer gives their approval, deliver the object to them in full, along with any accessibility items needed.
Log and Archive
Now that the object has been approved, it is important that we document our work. We log information regarding the object in the Learning Objects Drive sheet, which can be accessed through the Instructional Technologists team in Microsoft Teams.
Also, upload final files for archiving to the IDD LMS Content Sharepoint.
