In August of 1914, The Serbs & the Austro-Hungarians fought in the Battle of Cer. This battle was only 3 days, and granted the Serbs an ultimate victory.

In 1915, a political interest group was formed by South Slavs from Austria-Hungary called the Yugoslav committee. From this plan, a new kingdom eventually was born: The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians.
Slovenia and Croatia declare independence. This is the event that ignites the Yugoslavia War. This war lasts until 1995.
Yugoslavia begins to fall.
Kosovo declares itself independent, but Serbia rejects that claim, labeling it as illegal. Eventually, Kosovo became recognized as independent.
