Importance. of veganism for the whole world.
"Now, since few days ago we know that we have 12 years until we reach the point of no return after which climate change will become universal and as I read on the United Nations website and on the many other reliable sources, cutting down animal products intake is the single biggest aa way for you as an individual to reduce your effect on the environment, more then buying an electrical car or reducing the number of times you fly with the plain or so on."
Student of Sociology, 23 years old, originally from Serbia.
"Definitely, I would say that veganism at its core is an ethical moral kind of thing. For me personally, health is not the main reason, but it just comes as a bonus. Definitely, I would say that my lifestyle is based on morals and ethics and what I'm trying to do, is to cause as I sad at least harm possible."
"...firstly because of health, because I wanted to test on myself and see is this really the truth. So, I also tried these tinctures made for the immune system. And then when I started fasting, when I switched to veganism, first three years I was not sick at all. I didn’t even caught. Before, I could drink cold juice and my through would kill me. But I was really strictly following all the rules."
IDENTIFICATION WITH A GROUP
"...also worth mentioning that WE all come from cultures that are hardly based on animal products, so WE are simply not used to, and WE are not taught how to cook without meat."
"I didn't wanted to be a people pleaser."
"People would always come to me and say, oh this is vegan, this is vegan, are you eating something vegan? That was just too much for me and I am a very introverted person so, when I get that much attention it just makes me very uncomfortable and I just couldn’t do it anymore."
MOMENT OF PERSUATION
Inspiration, motivation and activism.
"...I was vegan at home, I was vegan in most of the situations except for the situations when someone makes something for you, or yap, when I was just not strong enough to hold myself even though I know I shouldn’t be doing it and even though I know I don’t want to do it - in a way I still do it. You want to consume things even if you disagree with them and you keep falling back into this trap, and you just come to the point where you realized not doing it will feel thousand times better than doing it just for five-ten minutes of taste pleasure or this momentary pleasure."
