Swindon College 5-a-side football tournament
We as a class have to organise a sports event and for this we have decided
to run a football tournament for everyone at the college to participate in. Each
team is allowed a max of 6 players and it is £1 per person.
The main aim of this particular event is to get several people from the college to participate in a football tournament
in an attempt to raise money for a specific charity. The amount that we are aiming to raise is a minimum of £100. The
reason for this is because the objective is to get around 16 teams competing in this tournament and each team is
allowed a maximum of 6 players per team, so from just last we are looking at getting just under £100 and we can gain
further money through selling things on the day of the event for example drinks and food. Another aim of this
tournament is to fundraise but also make a profit. The main reason we are doing this tournament is so that we can
raise money which we can give to a charity for example sport relief. So as well as fundraising for that charity we are
obviously going to need to make a profit so that we have money to give to that charity or there would be no point in
running the event or aiming to raise money. The main way that we are looking at raising money and making a profit is
by making a £1 entrance fee but as well as this we may be selling things on the day such as drinks in an attempt to make
a further profit.
There are several different resources that will be needed to ensure that this event works properly and two of these are physical and human resources. Physical resources are things that are needed so that the players can play in the tournament. These can include things such as footballs, bibs and the football pitches. There may be some other things necessary such as places for the players to sit or places for them to go to eat. However the main things required for this tournament to work successfully would be the standard pieces of equipment that are necessary for a game to be able to be played. The second type of resource is human resource; and this is the kind of skills that certain people who are running the tournament need so that it all runs correctly. For example this can be things such as communication skills, leadership skills, previous refereeing experience and first aid trained individuals. It is essential that for the tournament to work all the individuals running it know what they need to do in certain circumstances or situations so that they can deal with them quickly and effectively.
