The purpose of this TV show was to get the audience guessing and to make them confused. By having the audience thinking and guessing about what the storyline will throw at them next throughout each series it keeps them engrossed in the show and entertained throughout.
Form & Style
Running time is 40-48 minutes long.
In order to understand this show and each storyline the viewer must watch each episode in order otherwise there will be confusion as to what has happened.
The atmosphere is very rushed and action packed. As there is either a dangerous task set for the characters or they are running for their lives. A theme for this show would be life and death that keeps occurring in nearly every episode.
Here is a list of
the cast and who they played along with the seasons they were in.The key action in this show was solving mysteries and trying to survive. The place/setting was mainly on an island for the first few seasons then it expanded to other areas.
The meaning behind Lost is to stick to the gut feeling and to treasure loved ones I personally think. There isn't really a true meaning that has been let out about the show which in a way is good as it lets each person think of a different meaning which they believe.
Morally the show isn't as bad
as some other shows that are being shown on TV nowadays, for example American Horror Story.
There are some scenes that show deaths, a little nudity, violence & gore, profanity, alcohol, drugs, smoking and a few others.
The genres for Lost are supernatural, adventure, mystery, and science fiction. These are all very noticeable during all 6 seasons of the show.
I feel like this show brings all types of different ideas to each of those genres as it was so smartly written that the viewers had to keep up with each episode and it kept them on their toes from start to even after the finish.
The target audience for Lost is mainly a mix
of younger and older adults that love action and mystery. The show is not gender based so it can be male and female targeted.
Below are the the TV ratings for in the US.
