-Filling in missing words forces a student to utelize semantic and syntactic clues together, along with symbol-sound information to come up with meaning.
-Students who read critically judge what they read. This is considered to be an affective and cognitive skill.
Drawing Logical Conclusions:
- Students should reach their conclusion, but also keep an open mind. Teachers need to model this act.
Finding Textual Evidence:
-Its key for students to find textual evidence. In order to do this, we need to us the "Reading for Meaning" procedure.
