(October 23, 1491)
St. Ignatius of loyola was born on October 23, 1491 in Loyola, Spain.
Ignatius was transported to Loyola and his condition was so serious he almost died. During this time he read multiple stories of Saints and he decied that he wanted to be a soldier of God.
(May 20, 1521)
While defending Pamplona against the French, Ignatius was hit by a cannonball which fractured his right leg and damaged his left.
Ignatius became a knight for his relative, Antonio Manrique de Lara, duke of Najera and viceroy of Navarre.
(Febuary 1522-March 24, 1522)
When Ignatius became well again he left his family and when on a pilgrimage to Montsarrat.
Pope Paul III approved the Jesuit Order
(March 25, 1522- Febuary 1523)
He left for Manresa and lived as a beggar, attended daily mass, and spent 7 hours praying. During this time he had also worked on his book, The Spiritual Exercises.
(March 1523- March 1524)
Ignatius made a pilgaramage to Jerusalem.
Ignatius had became a priest
He became ill and resigned as Superior of the Jesuit Society.
(July 31, 1556)
Ignatius died in Rome, Italy.
(Febuary 2, 1528- 1535)
He went to Paris to continue his studies as a student.
The Society of Jesus formed a permanent union.
(August 15, 1534)
He gathered his companions, who were going to be the cofounders with him of the Society of Jesus, and the went to Montmartre to vow chastity, poverty, and obedience.
