Student Assessments and Discussion
Socrative is a great way to do a quick entrance or exit slip. Students can take a quiz or do a self-assessment or reflection. Socrative can be a fun way to learn through Space Race.
Kahoot! is a great tool for reviewing vocabulary and verbs. It can be used for practice, created by the students and shared, and even for a homework assignment. Teachers launch the game. Many public Kahoots to choose from!
Student Discussion: Voice
GoSoapBox is a great way to provide opportunities for students to share ideas and participate in discussions. It reduces the paper and enables students to express themselves.
Tools like Padlet or Today's Meet enhance class discussion, promote student voice and can also be used for backchannel chatting.
Students are given a rubric for each project and may select from between 20 and 30 or more different web tools for creating their project.
Projects: Giving a Choice and Voice
Using a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Edmodo can help to engage students and provide opportunities for more personalized instruction and alternate assessments. The use of an LMS is a means to expand the classroom beyond the traditional classroom time and setting.
