The Germans unleashed the first lethal, major Poison Gas attack on the battlefield.

First Battle of The Marne
French and British troops launch an offensive on advancing German troops.
A German proposal to the Mexican Government. It stated that if the U.S. joined the war, and Mexico helped defeat them, then Germany would help mexico regain multiple U.S. states.
Congress agrees, with President Woodrow Wilson, declaring war on Germany, and joining the allies.

Russia Disengages in War
Russia's new government signs The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, with Germany, and leaves WWI.
The Armistice of November 11, 1918, ended WWI, stopping fighting between the Allies and Germany.
