Patch Adams is a film that is based on a true story. It is a movie released in 1998, about a man named Hunter “Patch” Adams, played by Robin Williams, who aspires to be a medical doctor, because of his passionate determination of helping other people. Behind a helpful heart, Patch suffers from depression and loneliness. Depression kills him. But through his journey, he discovered that he has a power to connect with people and make them part of his life. Patch is different. Because unlike any other medical doctors, instead of using medical equipments to cure a patient’s sickness, he makes them happy by making them laugh, believing that laughter is indeed the best medicine. He lives with them and treats the patients as his own as they battle sickness. Little did they know, they are not the ones who are just cured, but Patch is as well.
