Parliament wants more money from the colonists, this act increases taxes on non-British goods shipped to the colonies.

The British pass the Quartering Act, requiring the colonists to provide blockages, and supplies to British troops.

The Declaratory Act is passed making it so they could make laws binding the American colonies.
1775 New England Restraining Act
Parliament passes a restraining act prohibiting trade between the colonies, and other countries, besides Great Britain.
1767 Townshend Act
Parliament declares the Townshend Act issuing taxes on paper, tea, glass, lead, and paint.
1773 Tea Act
Taxes are reduced on British tea. British Merchants having an advantage on selling their tea in America.
1774 Quartering Act
This act makes it so British troops could be dwelling anywhere.
1774 Coercive Acts
In response to the Boston Tea Party Parliament goes on to pass several more acts. Including the Boston Port Bill, banning any ships loading or unloading in the Boston harbor. The administrative Justice Acts give protection to royal officials in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Government Act makes it so the election of new officials has to be approved by the crown.
Parliament passes the Stamp Act, taxing anything paper, including newspapers, pamphlets, playing cards etc.
