16 Thank you
AusIMM is in safe hands as Dave Clark commences his term as President from January 2021 and I wish him all the best and look forward to working closely with him and the 2021 Board.
I wish to thank the AusIMM Management Team, led by CEO Stephen Durkin, who have shown great skill, professionalism and spirit, despite Victoria’s lockdown, to keep members connected.
Finally, thank you to all our members for your support of AusIMM. Your commitment means AusIMM can continue to play a strong role as the peak body leading the way for all people in resources.
Janine Herzig
FAusIMM(CP)
President
It has been an honour to represent our members as President for the past two years and I thank you all for your support in making AusIMM more sustainable and inclusive. During my term I have engaged with members and stakeholders all over the world and have seen the deep care our professionals have for our sector, our host communities and each other.
As I reflect on 2020, I am proud of how AusIMM’s global community has collaborated and supported each other to find creative solutions despite great uncertainty. The resilience and determination of our people has been especially apparent, and this commitment will play a huge role in driving our economic recovery.

CEO
In a difficult year, AusIMM has focused on providing leadership for our members all over the world. We have weathered the initial impact of COVID-19 and are well-positioned to support our professional community into the future.
2020 saw AusIMM quickly transition our professional development offerings online, enabling members to share knowledge and connect with peers despite pandemic restrictions. The digital capability we have built ensures AusIMM can provide world-class content to professionals all over the world.
Our Digital Transformation, which has modernised and integrated a number of legacy business systems, has been a key focus of our organisation in 2020. This will culminate in January 2021 with the launch of our new website, providing an enhanced digital experience for members and other site visitors.
2020 also marks an important milestone in the ongoing strategic direction of our organisation. The four initiatives of our ‘Future Directions’ strategy – our Digital Transformation, JORC Code Online Courses, Corporate Partnerships and Trusted Voice – are now fully integrated into our core business.
As we move forward, we are leveraging our digital capability to focus on delivering world-class content to our members and resources professionals globally. This includes hybrid conferences, online courses, a superior digital library, webinars and more. We continue to grow as a more modern and inclusive organisation with a broader reach, as evidenced by our expanding influence through our partnerships and social media presence.
I would like to thank Janine Herzig for her dedication as President. Janine’s passion for AusIMM and her ongoing support for our global community has been apparent throughout her entire term. I also wish to thank outgoing Board Directors Diana Drinkwater and Gavin Yeates for their years of service, and welcome Dave Clark as President for 2021 and incoming Directors Nicole Brook and Mark Noppe.
Thank you to all our members for your ongoing support of AusIMM. Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable festive season.
