April 2016 saw an increase in the unemployment rate for Alberta from 7.1% to 7.2%. The number of jobs decreased from March by 20,800 (10,900 full time positions and 9,900 part time positions) and the labour force decreased by 18,800 people. Accommodation and Food Services, Business, Building and Other Support Services, and Public Administration all saw increases in employment of over 2,000 jobs each.
