Eugene Tan grew up in Western Australia and started surfing in the Cottesloe shore break at the age of three.Today he spends every spare moment in the ocean but instead he’s taking photos.
Eugene tan moved to Sydney when he was 21. He worked as a graphic designer. When google was invented he became a web designer, working for a big company named eclipse. Tan worked there for ten years.
Tan was a teenager when he got his first camera but before tht he had a camera he carried in his pocket. He reffered to the dark room as his sanctuary because everyone thought photography was lame and no one liked it.

Eugene was also inspired by few people himself they include: Christian Fletcher and Ray Collins. (A quote from Tan )Christian Fletcher is a guy in WA and he shoots a lot of landscapes. He doesn’t do much beach stuff, but he is the nicest guy, a fantastic photographer, good at post-production and he has four galleries. He also said that he loves Ray collins work and that he is a good water shooter

Eguene Tan uses a wide variety of different tools when he is taking his photos. One of them is an Underwater camera. An underwater camera allows Tan to capture the beautiful and spectacular photos he does because the camera is such high quality.
This artwork is called the line up It is called this because the surfers are lining up for the set of waves to come. This photo uses the structual frame. When looking at this image it allows me to look at the form and artist technique used by the composer. This photo uses horizon rule and contrast. the way that Tan uses contrast is through the dark figures ( people in the water ).
This photo is called Kombi because of the van that is central in this image. He uses the structural frame and the elements of composition to showcase this image. The elements he uses include centrality, horizon rule, symmetry and contrast.
This photo is called Meaythis photo uses the structural frame it does this through the use of the wave as a symbol. the wave represents power and this is hy the photo is called meaty.
This image is called early bird. Tan uses the sturctural frame and the elements of composition which include: the sun as the central and focal point, the horizon rule and the surfer as a contrasting object in the middle of the photo.
This photo is called lone swimmer. Tan uses the structural frame in this image. He does this through the elements of composition and aesthetics of this image. The elements used include birds eye view, centrality, contrastand color.
This image is called North Bondi Boat Ramp. This image uses the Structural frame. It does this through the use of elements of composition, which include Birds eye view, contrast ( the water) and color.
This photo is called Corduroy Steamers. it uses the structural frame and elements of composition, the different elements it uses are: color, contrast and altered depth of field.
