One of the priorities for Nebraska's business community in the Legislature's 2019 session is a rewrite or extension of the state's business incentives. The Nebraska Advantage Act is due to sunset in 2020, creating much uncertainty for Nebraska employers.
Who Has Benefited from the Nebraska Advantage Act?
From 2006 through 2018, there were 767 applications for Nebraska Advantage Act incentives. This represents $19.6 billion in investment and more than 44,300 full-time jobs. Roughly 52% of Nebraska Advantage Act applicants were from outside Omaha or Lincoln, meaning the program has greatly benefited job creation and investment throughout our state.
