We provide direct support to families for up to 12 months. Put simply, our approach is: 1 Family, 1 Plan, 1 worker. Our staff team works with families to help them understand their needs and identify the outcomes that they want and need to achieve. We talk with families, ensuring that we understand their needs not just as individuals but as a family unit. Our practitioners will work intensively with the family, identifying the causal factors and helping to put in place real, practical and simple solutions.
We will work in partnership to provide early help and access to specialist support where it is needed. This may be in areas such in as clinical mental health, family therapy, trauma, family violence, substance misuse and housing. As a service we are accountable to both the families and our partners. This means work in partnership where equal responsibilities and accountability in providing continued support.
You can download the referral form and an information leaflet for families which will assist you in this conversation, from the following website address:
Strong Minds provides a range of early intervention programs for children and young people, aged 0-18 years, and their families who are experiencing, or are at risk of developing, mental health problems.
Our belief is that early help works. We offer families practical help, support and guidance which will not be ‘more of the same’, but a step to ensuring that problems do not escalate. This may include support for children, young people and their families with issues such as depression, anxiety and related problems, helping families build strong relationships and work through problems at home.
We provide services in the Fairfield LGA, Auburn LGA, Merrylands and Guildford area.
