The Caribbean Integration Movement is for Caribbean citizens who believe that the people of the region are key shapers and stakeholders in the integration mission.
The belief is that if we are to make progress and see any significant gains, then Caribbean people must be willing to act. We should not be complacent in the hopes that effective integration would simply materialize. Nor should we be content with leaving such a development solely in the hands of Heads of Government, if and when it fits their agenda.
We believe that even small steps can mean significant progress in the realization of any goal.
Is it going to happen
overnight? Are we going to wake up to economic or political integration and
the solution to social issues in the integration process? Perhaps not. But we are not daunted by the challenge.
We can help, we can educate
and inform, and we can advance the people-led integration that has been a
feature of this region for decades.
Our aim is to ensure that
citizens, the ones who stand to benefit the most, are playing a critical role
in shaping and developing the integration process.
SO who are we? We are the future of the Caribbean, and we can either accept or negate our responsibility to regional development. The Caribbean Integration Movement chooses to consciously and conscientiously work toward Building the Region Using Culture and Education.
