What is Intensive Subsistence Farming?
-Intensive subsistence farming is practised in high-populated areas.
-This type of farming requires alot of labour-work and a lot of biochemical outputs and irrigation for higher production.
-One of the problems of this type of farming that leads to low production is "INHERITANCE".
-Inheritance in families divides their land for their successive generations which reduces the size of land-holding.
-But the farmers, due to no other source of livehood, continues to take their outputs from the limited lands.

3, Use of Modern inputs such as fertilizers, high yield variety seeds, insecticides, and pesticides are used to enhance the productivity of the land.

-In India, tea, coffee, rubber, sugarcane, banana, etc are important Plantation crops.
-Tea in assam and north bengal coffee in Karnataka are some of the important platation crops grown in these states.
