In "The Great Gatsby" the author talks about how the American Dream is something that everyone wants. We see this when talking about the people that live in the valley of ashes, how they tried to achieve the American Dream but didn't make it. Then people that live in East and West egg are the people that made it in the American Dream. Also in the book there is the green light that encourage people to seek out there dreams, like how Gatsby tried to get back together with Daisy. But in the end when someone has achieved their dreams, do they actually achieve it.
