Theory: All matter is made up of atoms. Dalton also believed that atoms cannot be created, divided, or destroyed.
The Atomic Theory
Thompson found particles within an atom have a negative charge and these later became know an electrons.
Thompson was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1937.
Rutherford suggested that atoms have a nucleus which has a positive charge. He called these particles protons.
Bohr's model of an atom had electrons moving around the nucleus in a circular path. This helped future scientists predict chemical properties of elements.
Chadwick discovered that the nucleus contains uncharged particles called neutrons. These neutrons move in within the area known as the electron cloud.
