Five A Side Football Tournement
Level 3 Sports
Aims & Objectives
When making an event you need to give yourself aims and objectives. These are goals or targets that are completed to try and make the event as successful as possible. When setting aims and objectives you need to consider participants, venue, and what you are creating the event for, whether it is for educational purposes or fundraising etc.
The first aim/ objective of the tournament is to raise money for the chosen charity which is sports relief. We have chosen the tournament to be a fundraiser because it is helping a good cause. Another aim/ objective is to make sure everyone taking part is safe and we will do this by taking a risk assessment before the event and if there are any dangers then we will remove them safely with the correct caution. Our final aim/ objective is to get 16 teams of 6 to take part. We will do this by getting publicity through posters and leaflets etc
When planning an event you need to make sure you have all the correct resources to make sure the event runs smoothly whether this is equipment, first aid, venues, or food.
For our event we need to make sure we have the oasis astro turf hired for the day as this well be our venue and not booking this may result in us not being able to run our event. We also need to make sure we have gazebos, tables, and chairs for the head tent which cover scoring, results and any first aid which might be necessary. We also need a gazebo, tables, and chairs for the tuck shop as this will be where we sell drinks and food to help raise money. Another resource we require is equipment such as bibs, cones, footballs, and first aid kit. We need also of this to run the event. Cones will be used to resemble what ares are chill zones. Bibs will be used to help tell teams apart, and the football are used in the game. The first kit is on site in case of injuries that require emergency aid.
Specific - Our specific target is to get 16 teams of 6 to participate in our event and have each participant pay £1 entry fee. This will is because we are hosting a fundraising event to donate money to sport relief.
Measurable- This target is measurable because we will total up all the money we make at the end of the event and our target will be £96. This is because we will also be selling food and drink and everything we raise will go to sport relief.
Achievable - This target is achievable as long as we give ourselves enough time to get publicity and get different college course to enter teams. This is because it will take time to go aroung the college getting teams together and then planning the event.
Realistic - This target is realistic as ng as we give ourselves enough time to get teams together and the venue booked etc. This is because we need 16 teams and this can take time.
Time - All this can be done in a time frame of 1 - 2 months depending n how well we get publicity and work as a team.
Health & Safety
A risk assessment helps to identify what harm could result from an activity or situation and what control measures are needed. It involves thinking about: what you want to do, what could go wrong, what you do to stop it going wrong. Employers in each workplace have a general duty to ensure the safety and health of workers in every aspect related to their work. The purpose of carrying out a risk assessment is to take the correct measures necessary to keep the children or employer’s safe.
First aid. Having someone on hand with knowledge of first aid and having the right sports first aid kit is important, weather the game is being played by young children or fully grown adults. It is the job of the first aid person to be there with the expertise required when a sport injury occurs. It is the first aid person’s responsibility to make sure that the players get the right kind of attention as soon as a sport injury happens.
Consent forms are use when the participant is under the age of eighteen. This is because they are still classed as minors and under the care of their parents. If their parents are unhappy with them taking part then they will not return the consent form and that participant will not be able to take part.
Regulations are set so people are safe and not at risk. They also have to follow the regulations so the event is fair and there will be no cheating involved. These can be things like players from the opposite team must be 2 meters from the ball when a free kick is being taken. Another is the you aren't allowed to slide.
Contingency plan & Considerations
A contingency plan is a plan in place just in case the first one doesn't go as planned. There are many factors that can effect the go ahead of our event such as weather. If the weather is bad then we cant do the event outside like we attended in out first plan and so we would have to go to our contingency plan. Our contingency plan for bad weather on the day is to go into the oasis sport hall and do the event in side. Another situation that may result to the contingency plan is if the venue was deemed unsafe through damaged of injure. This means we would have to change the location to our secondry which would be oasis sports hall. A consederation would be ability level of groups and making sure you try to balance out the teams so they play teams of the same ability.
