The Nez Perce tribe was historically nomadic, traveling with the seasons from buffalo hunting in the Great Plains to salmon fishing at Celilo Falls. The plan to have peace would be to share in a fair way the proper extension of land in each group.
They would also have to come to a common agreement that each group was going to be ruled under their own laws. Whites were not going to impose their laws onto Nez Perce territories, and Nez Perce were not going to impose their laws on to white territories.
What caused conflict,
Whites were taking or "invading" the lands of the Nez Perce and offered them a land much like 25% of their land to take 75%.
What could of prevented conflict,
Whites and Nez Perce could of lived in harmony living 50% 50% and sharing knowledge.
Who will occupy what lands?
The whites would be living in Idaho, exploring things like gold, buffalo's, etc.
The Ne Perce would live in Oregon, learning the new culture. breeding horses so they can have strong and fast animals.
The Native Americans would live separately
The whites would live separately from the Nez Perce.
If the Whites, and the Nez Perce lived separately, then the whites would live where they already lived, and the whites would live in Oregon. Preventing overpopulation in one place and argument.
The whites would take the Nez Perce land and give them a small piece of a land they had. There would be conflict quickly. They would start to argue that the whites are taking all their land.
They will respect their laws and the way of government.
They will respect the generational practices of each culture.
They will respect the way they live.
How will the different cultures exist?
How will the different groups coexist?
An agreement they would be sharing info.
What if there is a conflict in the future?
there must be an open way of communicating and talking about the differences and issues presented between cultures in such a way that they will be resolved in a peaceful way. (what is called today diplomacy).
Over land, the Nez Perces used dogs pulling travois (a kind of drag sled) to help them carry their belongings. Once they had discovered horses, they could travel faster and follow buffalo herds further.
