Ancient Rome- 509BCE
Rome as a kingdom was established in 753BC, but the republic government wasn't established until 509 BCE. This republic used officials elected by the citizens.
460 to 320BCE
Greece struggled with getting the democracy down for a long time. They had a form of it but constantly struggled with tyrants taking over. During this period citizens enjoyed the most democratic benefits, splitting the government into three parts where they could judge, make laws, and govern for the people, by the people.
Oligarchy- Ancient Greece
Oligarchy's prospered throughout Greece during all times, with many city states being drawn towards this government choice. This was because there was usually a group of powerful and wealthy individuals who could control the most of people because of this power
Dictatorship- Ancient Rome
Julius Caesar was the first dictator to rule and he rose to power because of the immediate need for a ruler in Rome. The quick ascension to power led to a lack of regulations and easy manipulation causing Caesar to have ultimate control in Rome.
Theocracy has been very prominent in the middle east because of the very harsh and violent beliefs of Muslim groups. Theocracy continues to strive in the middle east today and it slowly crumbling into an anarchy of sort with countries being overrun and turned to warland with no rule
The American government takes bits and pieces from many different governments and combines them to provide the strongest and greatest government in the history of the world. The United States has been labeled a presidential republic because of the process of citizens voting in officials and voting on laws. Citizens have a large amount of power in the United States and are seen as the source of power.
