Definition- The transfer of energy between objects that are at different temperatures.
Definition- The movement of thermal energy from one object to another.
There are 3 types of heat transfer: Conduction, Convection, and Radiation.
3 Types of Heat Transfer
The movement of heat from 1 molecule to another.
Movement of heat by currents in liquids and gases.
Energy movement through waves
Examples of Conduction, Radiation and Convection
Conduction- Cold metal spoon in a hot soup
Conduction- Metal handle on a pan on a stove
Radiation- A person placing their hand over the fire
Convection- Putting wet shoes on a floor vent, to help dry them faster
Convection- Boiling water
Radiation- Lying out in the sun to get a tan
Radiation- Heat from a stove burner
Convection- Air conditioning
Conduction- Picking up a hot cup of tea
