NUR 221 Students' Feedback on Fall 2017 Clinical Simulation Day
Students' feedback is from the CSC Likert scale survey given to students immediately following the clinical simulation day. Their clinical simulation consisted of a pediatric and adult simulation, IV pump and rights of medication administration activities. The survey addresses the students' entire clinical simulation day including both the IV pump and medication administration activities. Of the 153 students participating in the simulation we received 139 survey responses or 91% participation.
Two scenarios were selected:
Pediatric Scenario: Provide care for a school age child with impaired oxygenation/respiratory distress.
Adult Scenario: Adult bedside assessment (focused) and environmental safety: Perform a focused assessed on an adult client and identify patient safety issues in an in-patient hospital room.
- 5 days of simulation was scheduled ( 8/21-23 and 8/25-26).
- 30 hours of simulation were booked.
- 153 of 154 students participating in the clinical simulation day signed into the Sim Center.
